This piece is part of an ongoing series exploring brushwork methods. Brushstrokes are applied by hand attempting to replicate the motions of a mechanical process, the resulting imperfections give rise to the captivating patterns seen throughout this collection.

The name of this painting is derived from the finished composition, in this case, the curved white brushstrokes radiate outward in concentric rings, similar to the pattern of lines created by stars in long exposure photographs of the night sky at the earth's poles.
