This piece is part of an ongoing series exploring brushwork methods. Brushstrokes are applied by hand attempting to replicate the motions of a mechanical process. The resulting imperfections and idiosyncrasies give rise to the captivating patterns and compositions seen throughout this collection.

The name is derived from the visual composition either during or after painting. In this case, the curved white brushstrokes radiate outward in concentric rings, similar to the pattern of lines created by stars in long exposure photographs of the night sky at the earth's poles.

Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper, one of the world’s most favoured papers for FineArt printing, this artwork is a Fine Art quality Giclée print. The white cotton material, featuring a wonderfully soft feel and a lightly defined felt structure, imparts each piece with a three-dimensional appearance and remarkable depth.
